I was asked to film the memorial service for Tom Kennedy last February.
Tom was a great friend and his art was larger than life and he made a
great impression on all that knew him. The day of the memorial it rained hard and cold and windy and I think the weather really caused people to band together a little tighter and experience it a more than if had been a nice easy sunny day - and I think you can see that in the footage here. DS

QUOTES

Rarely does a film about an artist leave us with such a good feeling about life. This film goes far beyond a portrait of an artist, it covers home remedies for balding, attraction to black women, independent filmmaking, art cars, and most importantly it reminds us of the journey to discovering oneself that we all must take.

...takes an eccentric human subject and slowly peels away the layers of strangeness like a Bermuda onion. But that’s also the renewable beauty of that kind of documentary; as long as there are eccentric, quixotic dreamers like Harrod Blank, there will always be fascinating movies like this one. See this if: You’re looking for a movie to make you squirt tears of laughter and love of humanity in all its nutty glory.
